Led by our JumpNet and Efinity solutions, Enjin will enable carbon-neutral NFTs by the year 2030.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are hot right now, but so is our climate.

While it’s becoming widely accepted that blockchain is the key to building transparent free markets, we all agree there must be a way to achieve this without sacrificing the earth.

There doesn’t need to be a trade-off between financial equity and environmental sustainability, which is why we’re introducing a plan to enable carbon-neutral NFTs by 2030, led by our upcoming solutions JumpNet and Efinity.

VeVe already operates using blockchain technology that is >99% more energy-efficient than Ethereum.

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we have just announced that the platform will completely off-set/neutralize the carbon footprint from the minting of VeVe NFTs, as well as establishing a grant of 1 billion OMI to offset the cost of designing and producing NFTs, and for fundraising efforts by environmental nonprofits.

WAX plans to offer carbon impact NFTs on the blockchain. This will be the world’s very first, fully tradable carbon impact collectible. These NFTs will come in the form of vIRLs. vIRLs are NFTs that can be directly redeemed for a physical item or service, such as shoes, a purse, or in this case, carbon impact NFTs.

For physical items, this system drastically reduces the number of delivery trucks needed, shipping and packaging costs, and gas required to deliver the product.
